Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) is a structured approach to discovering potential failures that may exist within the design of a product or process. Failure modes are the ways in which a process can fail. Effects are the ways that these failures can lead to waste, defects or harmful outcomes for the customer.

The AIAG-VDA FMEA methodology represents the latest trends and techniques when creating a FMEA. Due to increased documentation requirements, it is advisable to run FMEA with software support. APIS IQRM is the current leader in FMEA software and the majority of OEM’s and automotive companies uses it successfully hence this course combines the new FMEA methodology and its application by using APIS software.
