Upgrade Training from PSB to Product Safety & Conformity Representative (PSCR)

According to the law (§ 823 BGB) every manufacturer is obligated to conduct a market observation. In the automotive industry this is further specified by customer requirements and the requirements are extended. For example, some automotive manufacturers (OEMs) have a product safety officer in the company.

VDA has recently changed the Product Safety Representative (PSB) course to include conformity. It is now called Product Safety and Conformity Representative. It is a qualification course with a knowledge test and you will receive a certificate of qualification after passing. It now has an official VDA handbook (VDA Product Conformity & Integrity).

The Upgrade from PSB to PSCR course is also a qualification course with a knowledge test and you will receive a certificate of qualification after passing. The new VDA handbook stipulated that this training is mandatory and participants must have attended the PSB training, which may not be dated back longer than 1st November 2016. The reason behind this measure is to achieve a more homogeneous group of participants within our PSCR Upgrade Training to optimize the learning conditions. The Upgrade training will only be offered until 2020 (exact date to be confirmed).

This seminar will not only look at the tasks, rights and duties of the Product Safety Officer but will also cover the following topics:

• Organizing product integrity

• Product integrity in the product life cycle

• Recommendations for product deviations

• Examples of tools and methods
