ISO 19011:2026 – Guidelines for Auditing Management Systems
 
ABOUT THIS COURSE
 
ISO 19011:2026 provides guidance on auditing management systems, including the principles of auditing, managing an audit program, conducting management system audits, and evaluating the competence of individuals involved in the audit process.
 
It is applicable to organizations that need to plan and conduct internal or external audits of management systems or manage an audit program.
 
This self-paced online course has been updated to align with the latest ISO 19011:2026 guidance. The new edition builds on the established principles of management system auditing while incorporating updated guidance to reflect the way audits are conducted in today's working environments, including greater consideration of remote auditing methods and virtual locations.
 
Throughout the course, participants explore both the principles behind effective management system auditing and their practical application. The training includes practical scenarios, examples, exercises and supporting learning material designed to help participants understand how auditing principles can be applied in real-world environments.

While some practical examples may draw on automotive industry environments, ISO 19011 is applicable across management systems and industries. The course focuses on how to effectively audit a management system, while the applicable management system standard provides the criteria against which the audit is conducted.

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE
 
There are no formal prerequisites for participation. However, participants will benefit from:
A basic understanding of management systems 
Familiarity with management system standards relevant to their organization or industry 
Experience working within a quality, environmental, health and safety, or other management system environment 
Previous exposure to internal or external audits 

Practical experience within an organization operating a management system will assist participants in applying the concepts covered during the course.

COURSE LENGTH

This course is approximately the equivalent of 3 full days of training, or roughly 24 hours of study.
 
As a self-paced online course, participants are free to progress through the training at their own convenience and will have lifetime access to the course materials.
 
GRADING AND CERTIFICATES
 
Throughout the training, technical learning content, practical examples and exercises are used to support the transfer of auditing principles into the participant's own work environment.
 
Participants will complete a knowledge assessment as part of the course.
Upon successful completion of the required assessment, participants will receive an ENCONA Certificate of Qualification. Where the required assessment criteria are not achieved, an ENCONA Certificate of Attendance may be issued, as applicable.
